My name is Noel, and I am a Pu Erh Tea devotee. I come from the Dai ethnic group in Yunnan. For generations, my family has been harvesting and selling Pu Erh in Menghai. Historically, Pu Erh tea were loaded up in caravan of horses from Menghai to major cities. From here, we bring you Caravan Tea.
The business in China has always been family based and organic. The small non industrial scale farm has always gone through a middlemen with very limited product reach.
While the family is based in Yunnan, I am living in Kuala Lumpur where I am attending college. I enjoy blending and serving tea as a hobby. I love experimenting tea with and I am extremely privileged to be able to have access to great Pu Erh tea.
During my travels in Europe, I met a Parisian tea master who enjoyed drinking Pu Erh tea among other teas. Frustrated from overpaying and getting inconsistent quality coupled with extremely commercialised packaging, acquiring the right tea was a daunting challenge.
This inspired me to setup The Caravan Tea with my partner in Malaysia so that we can give access to great Pu Erh teas to anyone in the world. We are able to source tea from family and friends who are in Yunnan, China.
Every Pu Erh Tea has stories and legends behind it over its long colorful history since the Tang Dynasty. We do not plan to sell you tea based on any story. Each tea (blended or single origin) can only be truly experienced by the individual drinking it.
We aspire to give you consistent authentic tea experience with without the excess of commercialisation and fairy tales. For us taste and experience are the only thing that matters when it comes to tea. The story is yours to tell.
Welcome to The Caravan Tea.
